Delete Your Account
You can permanently delete your Poeia account at any time. Deletion permanently removes all associated server-side data and erases all Poeia content stored on your device. This page explains what happens when you delete your account and how to request deletion.
What Gets Deleted
Deletion works for both anonymous and signed-in accounts — signing in with Apple is not a precondition. When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed from our servers:
- Your user profile — for an anonymous account this is only a random fraud-prevention identifier; if you signed in with Apple it also includes your Apple user identifier and email address, if provided
- Your subscription record
- Your Sign in with Apple token, if you signed in (revoked with Apple as part of deletion)
In addition, all Poeia content stored on your device is erased as part of deletion:
- Your poems and saved words (including your iCloud copy, if syncing)
- Your preferences and settings
- Your session and usage state
Deletion cannot be undone. After deletion the App returns to a clean, first-launch state.
What Is NOT Affected
An active App Store subscription is not cancelled by account deletion — subscriptions are managed by Apple. To stop billing, cancel the subscription in your device’s Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. If you return to Poeia while a subscription you purchased is still active, Premium re-attaches automatically via your App Store purchase.
Option 1: Delete in the App
The fastest way to delete your account is directly in Poeia:
- Open Poeia and tap the gear icon (Settings).
- Scroll to Account Management.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm when prompted. If you signed in with Apple, deletion also revokes your Apple token; anonymous accounts are deleted without any Apple re-authentication.
Your account is deleted immediately upon confirmation, and all Poeia content on the device is erased at the same time.
Option 2: Request Deletion by Email
If you no longer have access to the App or your device, you can request account deletion by emailing:
Please include “Poeia Account Deletion” in the subject line. We will verify your identity and process the deletion within 30 days.
